Laser Removal

Margo is a Trained and Certified Laser Tattoo Removal Technician. She studied at All Body Laser Training Institute in BC in June 2012. Margo graduated at the Top of her Class, so you can be sure that she knows what she is doing.

We use a Q switched ND:YAG Laser machine. These machines can safely remove the widest spectrum of pigments from the widest spectrum of client skin types with the least amount of side effects. Our machines are FDA Regulated and Approved.

How Does it Work?

Tattoos remain in the upper layers of our skin because the particles are physically too large our the immune system to recognize. The melanocyte cells of our immune system leave the pigments alone because they can’t effectively clear away the comparatively gigantic ink molecules!

MELANOCYTES PROTECT US FROM THE SUN

The Thermal Electric Process that occurs with the use of a Q switched YAG machine is called SELECTIVE PHOTOTHERMOLYSIS.

This means that ultraviolet UV spectrum Light Energy and Heat are directed through specialized crystal tips of the ND:YAG machine and are absorbed by the pigment molecules in the skin, which are known as chromophores. The laser beam is absorbed by the pigments which become superheated and explode into smaller particulates so the melanocytes can recognize them as intruders, surround the particulates and carry them away.

This process is called PHAGOCYTOSIS and it is similar to the fading of a suntan.

Phagocytosis is our Bodies Natural Response to Sun Exposure!

For up to 6 weeks (or even more in some cases) this process will continue. So you can expect further fading with time. This is why we must wait at least 4-6 weeks (depending) between Laser Treatments….if we treat too soon after a treatment, we run the risk of unwanted side effects and damage to the tissue. Remember our goal is to achieve maximum fading with the minimum possible amount of trauma to the skin

Laser Tattoo Removal is a Process

The Successful Laser Tattoo Removal Candidate can expect anywhere from 3-24 Treatments (or even more) depending upon the Health of the Client AND many other Factors regarding the Actual Tattoo, and the Desired Outcome.

Most people can expect between 8-12 Treatments to achieve desired results from a professionally applied Tattoo.

Dark, heavily pigmented Tattoos WILL require more Treatments.

Cover Ups which tend to use dark pigments and consist of many layers of ink also require extra treatments.

Because Margo is also a Trained and Certified Tattooer, she can easily see what your Tattoo needs to facilitate, for example; the Best Cover Up possible in your situation.

THERE IS NO TANNING VIA THE SUN, TANNING BEDS OR SELF TANNING CREAMS AT ANY TIME DURING THE LASER PROCESS

A PATCH TEST WILL BE REQUIRED FOR ALL NEW AND LARGE TREATMENT AREAS

Everyone heals differently, everyone reacts differently, the same person could have a different reaction each time. That’s just how it goes! All Laser Treatment Appointments require a Consultation with the Laser Technician first.

REMEMBER: DUE TO THE NATURE OF THE LASER TATTOO REMOVAL PROCESS, THERE IS A 4-6 WEEK WAITING PERIOD REQUIRED BETWEEN LASER TREATMENT APPOINTMENTS
